Patanjali has Banned the Sale of 14 Products Including Drishti Eye Drops

Patanjali has stopped selling 14 products. In April this year, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority suspended the manufacturing licenses of 14 products including Patanjali’s Drishti Eye Drop. Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd told the Supreme Court that the advertisements for these products have also been withdrawn.

Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd has stopped selling 14 products including Drishti Eye Drop, whose manufacturing license was suspended by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April this year. The company submitted the information to the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The company has also directed media platforms to withdraw all advertisements for the 14 products and 5,606 franchise stores across the country, the company said in an affidavit filed before a bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Sandeep Mehta Meanwhile, the apex court directed Patanjali Ayurveda Limited to file an affidavit within two weeks accepting the request to remove the advertisements from the social media platforms and stating whether the advertisements for 14 products have been accepted.

The Supreme Court was also informed that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) chairman had apologized for his controversial remarks regarding the hearing of the Patanjali case. It was argued that the apology was sent to the media and published in the IMA’s monthly magazine and uploaded on its website. The Supreme Court has fixed the next hearing of the case for July.

The apex court was hearing a petition filed by the IMA alleging that Patanjali was conducting a false campaign against the vaccination campaign and modern medical treatment. At the last hearing of the case, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority informed the apex court that the manufacturing licenses of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurveda Limited and Divya Pharmacy had been suspended with immediate effect.

On May 14, the Supreme Court reserved its order on the contempt notices issued to Baba Ramdev, his associate Balakrishna and Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd in the misleading advertisement case.
