The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the West Bengal Police has launched the West Bengal PCC Portal to help applicants obtain Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) more quickly and to streamline the visa and employment application processes. Availability of Police Verification Certificate :
According to IG traffic Sukesh Jain, This process will now be completed within 72 hours and without any hassle. Previously, it took a long time approximately 30 days. The steps involve completing the online application form, uploading a photo and any required supporting documentation, and paying the Rs 300 processing cost with a debit or credit card, netbanking, or credit union.
How to Apply for West Bengal Police Verification Certificate :
To apply for the West Bengal PCC Portal, the user needs to follow the below-given steps:
- First of all, go to the official website of State Data Center’s website at https://pcc.wb.gov.in/
- The homepage will open.
- Click on the Apply for PCC tab
- A new page will open
- Now, enter your mobile number and click on the send OTP button
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
- Enter the received OTP for verification
- After successful verification, the application form will open on your screen
- Now, provide your Aadhaar details
- To verify that this is a genuine application, an additional OTP will now be sent to the applicant’s Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- The candidate will be questioned about if the PCC is requesting work verification or a visa.
- Additionally, the applicant’s permanent address will be requested.
- The applicant then needs to choose police verification and submit their criminal and traffic record information.
- At this point, the applicant must pay 300 rupees.
- After being verified, the application will be sent to the superintendent of police or the local police station, where it will be authorized.
- An SMS notice will be sent to the applicant upon process completion, and a blockchain will be generated using their digital footprint.
