After this, all the judges including the Chief Justice were asked to resign by 1 pm. After Sheikh Hasina left the country, a new government has been formed there under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus.

The Chief Justice told reporters at the Supreme Court premises that he has decided to resign keeping in mind the safety of the judges of the Supreme Court, High Court and lower courts across the country amid the emerging situation. Asked whether other Supreme Court judges would also resign, the Chief Justice said, “It is their decision.”
